In 2011, Corey Taylor lost the thumb on his left hand during a horrific saw accident.
After the mishap, he had to live without a thumb for six months while
his hand healed. Not having use of an opposable thumb made it difficult
for him to grasp onto things.
Thankfully, doctors were able to find a creative solution to ensuring
that everyday tasks such as eating or buttoning up a shirt wouldn’t be a
chore. They decided to replace his thumb with one of his big toes.
Apparently, his toe work perfectly as a thumb since they function very similarly.
“I can do everything I was able to do before with no problem,” he told 11 News.
The picture above might look pretty gnarly, but Taylor is stoked that he now has use of both of his hands.
