Wasiu Ayinde

Men of Ogun State Police Command, Tuesday, quizzed a popular fuji icon, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly called KWAM 1, over the shooting of a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye, three weeks ago.
Vanguard gathered that, KWAM 1, who arrived the Eleweran Command headquarters of the police around11a.m, was interrogated by police operatives attached to the Criminal Investigative and Intelligence Bureau for about six hours before he was released on bail.

The student, identified as Azeez Kofoworola of the Department of Business Education, was reportedly shot on Saturday, October 10 by one of the band members of the King of fuji which led to abrupt suspension of the show which held at limelight hotel in Ago-Iwoye during a party organised by the owner of the hotel to mark the Ago-Iwoye day.
Checks by Vanguard revealed that the Fuji maestro who had been invited by the Police for interrogation and had reportedly refused would have been declared wanted if he had failed to appear before the Police Tuesday.
It was gathered that the fuji maestro was drilled for close to six hours before he was released on bail after he provided a reliable surety on the condition that such surety would produce him anytime he was summoned by the Police.
The acting Police Public Relations Officer , Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the interrogation , said Wasiu’s case had been transferred to the Criminal Investigative and Intelligence Bureau on the order of the Commissioner of Police.
Oyeyemi further said that KWAM 1 left the premises of the Eleweran Command Headquarters around 5: 30p.m on the promise that he would make himself available for further police investigation.
It would be recalled that Kofoworola was said to have been hit by the bullet allegedly fired by King Wasiu Ayinde’s band boys while sitting inside an unregistered Honda Accord car belonging to an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, identified as Hassan Afeez.
She was subsequently admitted at the General Hospital in Ijebu-Ode, for treatment.
