As children, we remember signs of affection showed to us by our
parents through kisses, hugs, cuddles and more. It all seems pretty
innocent and second nature to be affectionate with the ones we love, but
one doctor is challenging that norm.
Dr. Charlotte Reznick,
a UCLA professor says that a kiss on the lips can be stimulating. He goes on to say,
“It’s just too confusing. If mommy kisses daddy on the mouth and vice
versa, what does that mean, when I, a little girl or boy, kiss my
parents on the mouth?”
The mouth is known as an erogenous zone which could “cause confusion” to kids according to Reznick’s controversial claims.
This statement from Dr. Reznick has made parents all over the world
upset and many are lashing back. Some are arguing that it is as natural
as breast-feeding and should not be looked at in a sexual way.
In our over-sexualized modern world, it seems even seemingly-innocent
exchanges with our little ones can now be construed as inappropriate.
