Roads are meant to provide a means for safer travel, however some of them seem to have been constructed merely to test the courage and skill of drivers.
The Eshima Ohashi bridge in Japan happens to be one of those roads–a healthy dose of caution is required when taking this two-lane concrete bridge.
It spans a mile across Lake Nakaumi, connecting the cities of Sakaiminato and Matsue, and has a gradient of 6.1 percent.
We can only imagine what kind of white-knuckled drive this would be if it was part of our daily commute.
